Community Alcohol Worker, 35 hrs p/w

Location: Birmingham, B30Salary £20,600 + £1,050 Regional Allowance Closing Date: 02/11/2012

The successful candidate will contribute to the provision of a brief intervention service for alcohol users aged 18 and over who are resident or roofless in the Birmingham area and referred via Primary Healthcare Settings or any other relevant referral agency or individual.  The service will offer assessments and a range of educational and harm minimisation sessions, structured interventions and onward referral of clients for further or associated treatment.  You will be responsible for contributing to the targets set by RAPt and the commissioners in order to support improved health and a reduction in alcohol related hospital admissions in Birmingham. 

For this position you Experience and/or qualifications in the alcohol and/or drug field are essential.   As is an NVQ in Health and Social Care or Advice and Guidance, and/or a nursing qualification, or equivalent.
